Design of pavements, both AC and PCCP, for all highway projects and preparation of a design report showing the design and necessary materials specifications |
|
Perform life cycle cost estimate comparisons for AC and PCCP pavements for freeway sections and any other high traffic loading areas |
|
Incorporate new materials or design procedures developed through research, industry, and/or supported by the Federal Highway Administration |
|
Review local government pavement designs and approve certification of local government pavement design methods |
|
Review project assessments and design concept reports |
|
Participate in construction partnering meetings and review pavement related engineering construction changes |
|
Participate in various public or private pavement association activities and meetings. Also, in concert with these associations assist in developing workshops and seminars and prepare and present papers on pavement design matters. |
|
Maintain and update as needed the Preliminary Engineering and Design Manual. Also, prepare as needed various policy papers relating to pavement design. |
|
Participate in construction partnering meetings and review pavement related engineering construction changes |
