How It Works

The basic EIT program lasts 18 months, with 6 months of additional training in your area of specialization.  Your time is divided into segments called Training Blocks, or TB's, which last 2 or 4 months.  Each TB gives you in-depth exposure to a Group or Section within the Intermodal Transportation Division by making you a productive member of the work team to which you are assigned. 

You choose your TB's in consultation with the Program Coordinator by selecting from several areas of study.  You will be required to pick a minimum of 4 separate areas during your training, which ensures a wide range of exposure to the many technical disciplines within the Division, and the most thorough and comprehensive training experience an entry-level engineer can find.
